Liebster Blog Award!
Today was a special day for me... I received my very first blog award!! It is from fellow blogger Lisa House @ Shabby Mommy. Be sure to check out her blog!!
This is a different kind of blog award in the respect that it recognizes inspiring blogs with less than 200 followers. This way some very worthy, but often over looked blogs benefit from some extra exposure...which is something every blogger can use!
Simply Creating
Nancy's CRAFTY blog
Gr8scraps
Doing It With Ink
The Bling Diva
Quilted Card
So this week I was asked to make a thank you card for someone who sat on the board where I work. The one thing about this lady is she loves to sew and quilt, so the rest of the board wanted a card that had something to do with quilting or sewing... Challenge accepted!
Here is what I came up with...
Enjoy!

Chocolate Bar Cards
On Monday was my monthly card club. This month we did "Chocolate Bar Cards". I think these cards are so cute and give just a little bit more than card.
We used Caboodle and Stardust paper and the stamp set is one of my favorites from the new Idea Book "Blue Ribbon".
Enjoy!

Believe in WHOOO you are
So for National Stamping Month in September, CTMH released their first ever double stamp set. I have been itching to use it, but with my Christmas card workshops coming up and my regular card club tonight, I haven't really had time to play with it... Until today!
So here is what I came up with using the Double stamp set and the Dreamin' paper.
Enjoy!

CTMH Convention
So today was a very exciting day for me. Today my wonderful husband booked my flight to next years CTMH Convention in Dallas.
I know its early (Convention isn't until July) but if any of you have ever tried to book a flight on points, you know it isn't easy. Even 10 months in advance, there were very few flights to chose from and they pretty much tell you when you are going and when you are coming home. I couldn't get the day I wanted to leave or the day I wanted to return, but I don't care... I'm going to convention!!!
Last years convention in Disneyland was amazing!! But the best part was the people I met.
I have been in constant contact with some of these ladies and we have been planning this trip next July since we left Disneyland.
It is so funny how you can meet people, spend 3 days together and feel like you have made life long friends.
So here are my room mates for Convention 2012...
This is Nancy, Jennifer, Barb and myself at Convention in Disneyland.
This is Jennifer and I right after we received our new Idea Books and beautiful bags from CTMH.
Enjoy!

Christmas' Past (Part 2)
So today's installment of "Christmas' Past" takes us back a couple years... Christmas 2009. (I know I said the last post was from 2009, but I was wrong, it was from 2010... ooppss, sorry).
These cards were made with the Jingle Creative Basics Paper.

Christmas' Past (Part 1)
So my main focus for the last couple weeks has been Christmas cards. Every year I hold a couple of Christmas card workshops through the community hall I work at. I am almost done designing the cards for this years workshops and would love to show them to you... but I'm not going to (not yet anyway). I like to keep my cards under wraps until the workshops, so instead I will share past workshops with you.
Today I will be going back in time to Christmas 2009. For this workshop I used the "Mistletoe" Level 2 paper and also the "Mistletoe" Creative Basics paper.

Proud Hockey Mom
So today was a big day in my little guys life. Today was the first day of hockey... ever! Yes, I am a hockey mom!
I was not in total agreement of this. I love hockey! I just didn't think MY son needed to play hockey. My husband disagreed, and after seeing the enjoyment on my little guys face, I guess my husband was right!
So here are a couple pictures of my favorite hockey player...

Thoughts of Thanksgiving
I can't wait until Thanksgiving!! Turkey, stuffing, pumpkin pie... Mmmmmm.
I also love Thanksgiving because I love fall! The colors of the leaves... and the colors of the papers!!
Oranges, browns and earth tones... Love, love, love it!!
One of my favorite CTMH papers was "Olivia". The colors and the patterns are so beautiful.
So when I decided to make some paper pumpkins, Olivia was the obvious choice!
I also needed to cut some ovals... Hmmmm... what could cut perfect ovals fast and easy???
The Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge!!
So here is my version of Paper Pumpkins....
The larger pumpkin was made with (9) ovals. AP cricut cartridge "oval #3" @ 4".
The small pumpkin was made with (9) ovals. AP cricut cartridge "oval #3" @ 3".
Both pumpkins are distressed with Desert Sand ink and the stem is stamped with a "tree" stamp and just cut down in the shape of a stem. The vines are made with sweet leaf card stock cut at 1/8" and wrapped around my scoring stylus.
Enjoy!

I Love Aprons!
I love aprons! I don't wear them a lot but I think they are sooooo cute! And when I do wear them when I am cleaning or cooking, I feel like I get more accomplished!?!?
So... I thought I would show you some of my aprons.
This is my Minnie Mouse apron. I got this from Disneyland a couple years ago. I love it, it is super cute!
This apron comes with a funny story... My friend Krystle has a company called Daisy's Garden. (Check out her website/blog. She is so talented, you will be amazed) She makes cloths and accessories (tutu's, blankets and yes, aprons!) for kids. Her stuff is so beautiful. One day I made a comment about her making those cute little aprons in my size and guess what I got for my birthday.... Isn't it SOOOO cute!!
This is my very first Close to my Heart crafting apron. I bought this apron as soon as I started with CTMH. I love this apron because it is so comfortable.
So here is my other crafting apron. I think this apron is really cute because it is kinda fancy and it is reversible. I don't really wear it very much as it isn't very comfy.
And here is the other side of my fancy crafting apron...
So those are some of my aprons... I hope you enjoyed my little fashion show.

Welcome To September
So it is September!! This is a bittersweet month for me... I love fall, but do not want winter to come! My little guy is so excited to start kindergarten and I am so excited for him, but I am so sad to lose him every morning. He is my side kick, my partner in crime. I guess we will have to work extra hard in the afternoons to make up for lost time (I can feel my eyes welling up with tears as I write this... so on to something happier).
With a new month comes a new stamp!!! and September has a great Stamp of the Month! It is every scrapbookers, card and tag makers dream!! This is such a versatile stamp! And surprise, surprise... it coordinates with CTMH's new Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge!
This stamp is available to you for only $5.50 with a $55.00 order.
Contact me today if you would like to get your hands on this stamp!

Paper Back Pack
So with back to school coming up in a couple days, I thought I would share a little back pack I made a couple months ago. I love this little back pack! I don't remember where (or who) I got the pattern from but if you are out there, you know who you are (even if I don't) and THANK YOU!
I used velcro on the flaps and ribbon for the straps... Enjoy!
